7. Tom Snyder
Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Tom Snyder made it broadcasting, famous for his abrupt interview style and his crazy laugh. He started out as a news anchor but eventually hosted talk shows, the first “Tomorrow Coast to Coast,” from 1973 to ’81. After Snyder was on “The Larry Sanders Show” in ’93, where he played himself, but a version of himself that was trying to land a nighttime talk show. The producers at Worldwide Pants saw the episode, and then offered Snyder a real show, “The Late Late Show,” which first aired in 1995. Ironic, eh? Snyder passed away at a young age, 71, in 2007, from leukemia.
