1. Not so Forgotten by All
Residents of the area around Watkins Glen haven’t so soon forgotten the crowds of Summer Jam 1973. When Phish made plans to do a show there in 2011, many who’d lived in Watkins Glen since forever remarked, “we don’t want another Summer Jam.“ This was according to the site Democrat & Chronicle. Local stores were emptied of beer first, then other provisions, food and drinks the townspeople needed. Restocking shelves on the weekend with clogged routes was impossible. A week afterward, police still found abandoned vehicles left for the birds.
