14. Then Came the Restaurants

Folks who lived in the Phoenix area in the ‘50s and ‘60s remember a chain of Wallace and Ladmo’s fast food joints. At their peak, in 1966, they had five restaurants. The best item on the menu was the Ladmo burger, which they served as big as a 45; small records released at that time. For folks feeding a troop of burger fans, they’d get a gallon of root beer by ordering a ten-pack of Ladmo burgers.
