8. The Show’s Secret Sauce
Every character McMahon created on the show had a certain quirkiness that came out during the skits. It was what made them endearing, and what made the show funny. ““Each one of his characters was flawed,” said Thomson of McMahon. “There was something wrong with every one of them. You know, and that was what was so darn funny.” Boffo the clown, as one example of McMahon’s humor, was not your typical party clown. He had a bad temper, didn’t like things like laughter, kids, and parties. Boffo, however, was not as popular as one of McMahon’s other characters, Gerald.
