6. Moonraker
The Bond story that was to follow The Spy Who Loved Me, was to be For Your Eyes Only, but the 1977 success of Star Wars had pushed the space theme into the limelight. Moonraker, released in 1979, told the story of a stolen space shuttle. The man in charge of the company that made the shuttle was Hugo Drax, the villain. Drax wanted what all villains wanted, to destroy the world, then recreate humanity in a lab, making a superior race. Ian Fleming wrote the story as a screenplay back in the ‘50s. Prophetic, eh?
