8. The Man With the Golden Gun
The ninth film in the series, The Man With the Golden Gun, told the tale of Francisco Scaramanga, an assassin attempting to get his hands on the Solex Agitator; a weapon which harnessed the sun to cause mass destruction. The film came to fruition under difficult times for the brand. Eon Productions, still owned by Albert Broccoli and Harry Saltzman, broke apart by the end of production. Saltzman suffered financial stress so he sold his half of the company to United Artists. Broccoli was not pleased.
