Tony Montana was loosely based on Tony Camonte, the lead character from the 1932 Scarface. Loosely, is putting it very loose. They shared a root story and first name. This year rumors about a remake of Scarface surfaced with Diego Luna from the Star Wars franchise potentially playing the role of Tony Montana.
