Al Capone died surrounded by family and friends in his Florida mansion where he spent the last few years of his life. It was not under a hailstorm of bullets. He had a heart attack. Dying of a heart attack doesn’t make for a compelling movie plot, so Tony Montana had to go out a little more dramatically. After Montana pissed off the Columbian Cocaine cartel, they put out a hit on his life. Under the cover of night, a small army of hitmen descended on his Florida mansion where he greeted them with his “little friend,” a machine gun.
