13. Clark Kent’s Boss Died
The man who played the editor of the newspaper where character Clark Kent worked, The Daily Planet, was John Hamilton. His character was Perry White. Unfortunately for White, Hamilton died of heart failure on October 15, 1958. The problem was the studio intended to film two more seasons of the show. Perry White, they would replace with another character, his brother played by actor, Pierre Watkin. It was all for naught after Reeves killed himself. The studio could replace an ancillary character, but to replace the main actor that far into the series was unthinkable… or was it?
