4. Even the Narrator was Somebody Famous
The show started with the iconic Superman intro, “Faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, able to leap buildings in a single bound… “ as voiced by Bill Kennedy. The man had that silky radio voice, the sort radio jocks would espouse. In fact, Kennedy was in radio, but he was also on the screen. He had a contract with Warner Brothers, as was the way the studios worked back then. Actors were like employees. Kennedy kept an active life in Hollywood, often in westerns before The Adventures of Superman, but he did little else after the show, cementing his reputation as the famous announcer from the Superman series.
