11. Larson Did Struggle
After the show, Larson struggled to find work right away. He’d initially balked on the opportunity to play Olson, citing typecasting as a potential issue later in life. Larson’s agent pushed him to the role, lest he never get another shot. So, he took it. When, after the show went off the air, Larson realized he’d been right all along, he gave up acting for a time. He moved to the production side of Hollywood, writing and producing projects, but Larson came back to perform in the 1990s. He was a decent writer, though, the first to receive a grant from the Rockefeller Foundation.
