Now this is something you don’t see every day. You have heard of the old “woody’s” that became hugely popular in the Californian surf culture, but this jeep takes the meaning of the word to a whole new level. See almost the entire Jeep is made of wood. All of the running gear appears to be still there so we assume that its still road worthy. It seems to be based off the 1960’s Willy’s Jeep so we assume it has the 2.2L Hurricane inline four cylinder engine.
The amount of time it would take to create this jeep is mind blowing. You can’t just go down to the local lumber store and ask for a front grille of a Jeep made out of wood. We couldn’t find a whole lot about the vehicle as far as who made it or what materials were used. But this was without a doubt someones pride and joy for quite some time. Not sure if it is different types of wood, or just different colored stain used, but the accents used for the bumpers, fender flares and running boards were an excellent touch giving it a two toned look.
It’s most likely a trailer queen and never actually driven on the road which normally we feel to be somewhat sacrilegious, but in this case it definitely makes sense. Slap some real nice wheels and tires on it, then put it in a glass case on display at a museum because this is a work of art.
