8. The Forbin

This French frigate is intended to protect from submarine threats, and is equipped with stealth technologies that make it appear smaller than it actually is on enemy radars. France began constructing it Lorient. It cost around $770 million to build and is 501 ft long, and comprised of fourteen different sections that had to be constructed separately.

9. HMS Agamemnon

The British Royal Navy plans to launch this ship in 2020. The HMS Agamemnon will be part of a family of nuclear-powered submarines that can stay submerged for three months. The original HMS Agamemnon, for which this ship was named, was in service in the famous American Revolutionary, French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Revolutionary wars, so the name carries a lot of historical weight.
