3. Discovery

Finding Titanic was no simple task. The water where she went down was not only cold, it was deep. Once she slipped beneath the surface, the two sections could have drifted underwater for miles in any direction. Researchers knew she was somewhere off the coast of Newfoundland, which is where they found her in 1985, 370 miles off the coast, and 12,500 feet down.
