Being aware of the world outside our cars is a problem. Despite our laws to help us stay focused on the road, our vehicles are ever-increasing sources of distraction. For the most part, cars on the road are safe from our wandering minds. They have drivers behind their wheels who can react. In the event that both of you are playing Pokemon GO, those cars have crumple zones. Humans in the crosswalk, however, do not have crumple zones. The solution is that your car will stop for you when pedestrians are present. This is already going into luxury cars, but will be standard in all cars of the future.
