18. Off Screen Pals
Dick York and Agnes Moorehead, the actress who played Samantha’s mother Endora, played characters who got along like oil and water. Darrin and Endora were always at odds. Off camera, as it turns out, the two were quite close. In fact, Moorehead liked York more than any other actor on that set. She was not pleased when Dick Sargent replaced her friend.
17. Dick York
Fans loved York too, especially in the 1960s, but not only for his acting. He was a good guy. Later in life, York suffered from emphysema and died in 1992 at age 63. It wasn’t the drugs that killed him. He battled and recovered from his addiction, then went on to continue his career in the 80s before the emphysema robbed him of his money. He moved home to Grand Rapids, Michigan where he stayed until his life’s end.
