There Are 25 Secrets About Bewitched You Never Knew

4. Montgomery’s Poor Arms

Holding one’s arms up for any length of time is torture. The shoulders fatigue quickly. Unfortunately for Montgomery, her character often raised her arms to make magic. If the director needed to yell, “cut,” then move things around, Montgomery had to hold her arms up. If she moved, the jump cut would look funny. To help her, the crew fashioned supports to put under her arms. Then, before the director yelled, “action,” they removed the supports and cleared the set.

3. The theme song has lyrics.

At the start of the show, as with any show, there is a theme song. It’s only tunes, no words, but there are words out there. Had producers decided to use the song in all of its glory, we would have heard the words, “Bewitched, Bewitched, you’ve got me in your spell. Bewitched, Bewitched, you know your craft so well.”
