Alan Hale Jr. broke his arm falling from a coconut tree
Filming a scene where Hale’s character fell from a tree, he missed the soft target for his landing. When he hit, he broke his arm but kept acting to finish the scene. Any other actor would have stopped to seek treatment. Not Hale. When they asked him later why he didn’t stop, he replied that he “didn’t want to interrupt the filming.”
