The woman who played Mrs. “Lovey” Howell, Natalie Schafer, signed on to do the pilot because (duh) they were going to film it in Hawaii. Who wouldn’t take a free trip to Hawaii? Besides, it was only a pilot; most become nothing. When the network agreed to pick up the show, they moved filming to Los Angeles, so no Hawaii lifestyle for Lovey. Aw.
