Ford started making the Falcon in 1960, both in the United States as well as Australia. They continued making them in the U.S. until 1970, but down under the Falcon was one of Ford’s main sellers until production ended this year, 56 years later. The U.S. Falcon had three generations, well technically 3.5. The biggest motor you could get was the 302 cubic inch Windsor V8 in the first three generations. But then they released the Falcon 1970 1/2 that had a totally new body style, and more importantly, the option for the big boy motor 429 Cobra Jet.
