The Dodge Coronet had a life that spanned a total of 8 generations over roughly 25 years. Production started in 1949 but like most other cars it wasn’t until the late ’60s that the muscle cars were born. The Coronet became popular in 1966 when the mighty 426 Hemi was released to the public and was made available on all trim levels. The Hemi was not only the most powerful engine available in the Coronet, but one of the most powerful engines of the muscle car era.
