#8 Shelby Daytona
This masterpiece was another brainchild of the great Carroll Shelby and was designed strictly for auto racing, specifically to compete against Ferrari 250 in the GT class. Just six of these cars were built from 1964-1965 and are worth a fortune if you happened upon one today. Under the hood was a 427 cubic inch V8 that was said to produce roughly 390hp but as with most other cars of this era was said to be underrated. Even though it had a production life of only 2 years, it was very successful on the racetrack, taking second place overall in 1964, and then taking home the GT III championship in 1965 as well as multiple endurance races, such as the 12hr/24hr races of Le Mans, Sebring, and Daytona.
