Built from 1967-1974, the AMC Javelin became very popular in the Trans-Am race series winning the championship in 1971, 1972 and then again later in 1976. It was also the first muscle car to be used by law enforcement as a highway patrol vehicle. Although the engines didn’t get quite as big as they did on other cars of the era, at 401 cubic inches, producing what was most likely another underrated horsepower figure of 325Hp, it was definitely no slouch.
