The Ford Torino has been featured in a couple Hollywood films and TV shows over the years. The 1974 Gran Torino was made famous by the Starsky & Hutch sitcom and film series and of course the film named Gran Torino directed by Clint Eastwood which featured the 1972 Gran Torino. But neither of those cars was considered to be the fastest or most powerful Torinos ever made. That honor would likely go to the “cobra jet” engines used in the 1967-1971 model years, with the most powerful being the 429 cubic inch motors producing an estimated 375hp.
