#29 Ford Fairlane Thunderbolt

Ford decided to jump into the purpose-built drag car category in 1964 with the Fairlane Thunderbolt. There were only 100 examples made, 49 came with a four-speed manual and the rest with the standard automatic transmissions. Under the hood was the popular and powerful Ford 427 which was rated at a stout 425hp. However, like many other high-performance cars of the era, it was believed to be significantly more potent.
