8. The Castle’s Size Is an Illusion

The castle isn’t as big as it looks, sorry. The Imagineers used a clever trick called “forced perspective” to make the castle seem absolutely enormous. They did this in two ways. The higher towers are actually smaller, making them look farther away. They also designed the buildings on Main Street to get shorter and shorter the closer they are to the castle, making the castle seem even taller than it actually is.

9. The Control Room Sits Beneath the Park

Ever wonder what controls all the different aspects of the park, from the nightly light shows to the animatronics to the stage curtains and different rides? It’s genius, really, but also super complicated. Beneath the castle, a small room holds the key to everything. The control room can control everything, even the hundreds of animatronic characters in the park!
