12. The Untouchables

To stem the flow of violence, the feds commissioned a task force of agents who would not take bribes. Their story was gripping enough to put on the big screen, the 1987 movie by the same name, The Untouchables. In the story, and in real life, Elliot Ness and his untouchables pursued Capone and his gang by every legal means possible. They caused Capone a ton of grief, raiding his breweries, arresting his cronies, until the feds finally nailed him for tax evasion. Capone never stood trial for the Valentine Day Massacre, leaving the case technically unsolved until this day.
