Believe it or not, McGarrett’s office at the Iolani Palace was real. The producers of Hawaii 5-O managed to secure filming time at the real Hawaiian palace where the last king and queen of Hawaii lived. Cool right?

Unfortunately, they couldn’t film there forever. During the ninth season, the Hawaii Five-O offices had to be relocated from the original Iolani Palace to a different building. Thankfully, it was nearby, so the move wasn’t too drastic. They had to move because the palace was undergoing renovations, and CBS’ new studio wasn’t completed in time for the filming schedule.
