From 1972 to 2007, Bob Barker was the host of The Price Is Right, ceding the role to another service person, Drew Carey. Barker enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1942, during World War II. He was a fighter pilot until 1945. Barker never saw any action as the war ended before his deployment, but he completed his training. Of this fact he once joked, “When the enemy heard that I was headed for the Pacific, they surrendered. That was the end of World War II.”
