13. Colm Meaney; Miles O’Brien, TNG & DS9
One character who crossed over between two of the series was engineer Miles O’Brien, played by Colm Meaney. He was originally on the USS Enterprise but took a position on Deep Space Nine. The move and O’Brien’s regular presence in the Star Trek universe allowed audiences to meet his character’s whole family over time. We’ll come back to those characters in a minute. Meaney has enjoyed a decent career since the shows ended, still appearing in series and movies.
