The senior crew of the new USS Enterprise enjoyed a multinational cast of men and women, some with unique abilities. LeVar Burton played the senior engineering officer of USS Enterprise, a character who would have been blind were it not for 24th-century technology. Burton continued to reprise La Forge in Star Trek movies. Before that, he had a name as the host of the show Reading Rainbow. That show has an aging but still active fanbase, feedings Burton’s social media profiles with followers. Burton’s acting career has slowed, but he’s still active, an active fundraiser for the AIDS Research Alliance.
