43. Hop Sing Really Did Have Skills in the Kitchen

Aside from Hoss, and a few of the other main characters, one of everyone’s favorites was the Cartwright’s chef Hop Sing, played by Victor Sen Yung. According to reports, his skills in the kitchen wasn’t the result of Hollywood magic as he was trained as a chef in real life. Yung even supported himself after the show was taken off the air by making appearances on cooking shows and authoring The Great Wok Cookbook in 1974.

42. Bonanza Theme Song Was a Hit On Local Radio

Bonanza was incredibly popular with audiences all over the world. The characters were so relatable and the stories were so gripping that it was almost a given that every Sunday night the whole family would tune in to watch. Even the theme song was popular, so much so that it was actually played on local radio stations and reached #19 on the hit parade in 1961.
