The role of Christian Grey came up with a couple of names, but it seemed Hunnam was the guy until at last, he was not. At that time, we knew Hunnam as Jax Teller, the starring role for the TV show, Sons of Anarchy. Hunnam panicked when he realized what it would take to make the transition to the role. “I really didn’t want to fail on such a grand scale and I just couldn’t transition from Jax Teller to Christian Grey in 48 hours,” he told Moviefone. “I bit off more than I could chew and it was painful. I loved the character and I wanted to do it … It was one of those damned if you do, damned if you don’t situations.”
