With Goldberg in the lead, the movie made an appeal to a broader range of audience members, attracting black and white audiences. Midler said she didn’t think her fans would appreciate her as a nun.

There was a time when Ford’s name came up for a lot of roles. Like Pacino and Nicholson, he’s probably walked from more money than he made but still came out ahead. Spielberg was the reason again for Jurassic Park, but Ford turned it down. Why he turned it down, nobody knows, but Neill did a fine job.
