1. Tsetse Fly
These flies, similar in appearance to the house fly but for a couple of distinguishing features, have been around for tens of millions of years. The oldest fossil proof we have is 34-million years old. They are not just annoying, they draw blood like a mosquito and they also spread disease in the same fashion. The worst is African Sleeping Sickness, caused by parasites they carry called Trypanosomes. If one infects you, you’ll suffer headaches, itchiness, and joint pain. Untreated, the symptoms can exacerbate to the point of death.
