24 Species You Don’t Want to Face on Their Own Turf

22. Box Jellyfish

There are a lot of jellyfish in the sea. Telling them apart is not easy, but recognizing this particular jellyfish is worth it. Some, not all, produce a venom so poisonous it can kill humans if not cause them massive pain. The best way to avoid them is not to swim in water where someone has spotted one, which is typically in the Indo-Pacific region. That said, they can range from tropical to subtropical regions. A quick scan of the surface and then again from in the water is usually enough to stay safe.

21. Bullet Ant

The name says so much about these massive ants. Getting bit from one of these bad boys feels like taking a bullet. Not really, but for ants, it’s a massive jolt if one bites. Reportedly, the waves of pain can last for 24 hours. Many bites could be deadly. They hang around parts of Central and South America

20. Cape Buffalo

Yeah, these buffalo are nothing like the plains buffalo of the United States, not in terms of biology, but they both will give chase. The Cape, however, attacks some 200 people per year in Central Africa. These bovine are so badass, humans have never bothered to domesticate them. They have only a couple of natural predators such as humans, lions, and massive crocodiles.
