7. Portuguese Man O’ War
Similar to the box jellyfish, the man-of-war, as many often call them has a string of tentacles hanging from a central body. There’s just one difference. The man-of-war is not a jellyfish, it’s a siphonophore, which are colonial organisms made of more than one animal. In this case, polyps collect together to form the man-of-war, functioning like one animal. Scary, right? Their little collective can deliver a painful, sometimes deadly sting.
