18. Elvis Presley
Back in 1975, Elvis Presley was at the height of his career and as a reward for that success, he decided to purchase this Convair 880 for an estimated $600,000 which was a significant amount of money at that time. The Convair was worth every penny according to Presley who had designed the entire interior himself and even went on to name it “Lisa Marie” after his daughter.
The Lisa Marie could comfortably accommodate up to 28 passengers before things started to get a little too cramped. Fitted with everything from bedrooms to bathrooms and everything in between, the Lisa Marie was the perfect home away from home when you traveled as much as he did. For the shorter flights, he had the option of taking his second plane, the Hound Dog II which was much smaller but also faster.
