1998 McLaren F1 – $13,750,000
Another victory of the Pebble Beach auction, Sotheby’s sold this F1 in 2015 for $13.75 million, dropping it right in the middle of Sotheby’s estimated value of $12-15 million. It’s one of 106 McLaren F1s built. This one, in particular, chassis no. SA9AB5AC4W1048073 (I know, right?) was one of two with an upgraded spec engine. In 1995, this vehicle took first overall in Le Mans. This one bears the signature of Gordon Murray, the famous Formula One designer whose other signature, design, one will find all over this F1. The new owner drives it around Monterey, because why not?
