On of heavy metal’s finest bass players, Cliff Burton, died in the early morning hours of Sept. 27, 1986. Just before sunrise, band members awoke when their bus started to swerve back n forth. The driver lost control of the bus after he hit some black ice. The bus flipped over and Burton was thrown through the window and crushed to death by the bus.
