12. Costumes Too

It wasn’t all about the mustaches. Jarre also had a specific vision for the costumes. Although it was not a historically accurate film, Jarre wanted the look and feel of the movie to scan as authentic. The costumes were to be wool, as they were back in the 1800s, even though the climate on set was unruly. One day temps reached 124 Fahrenheit. There were no such things as wearing board shorts and flip-flops back then. They wore pants, shirts, vests, and long jackets. No wonder everyone drank and carried guns.
